Dr. Villar graduated with honors from the UCLA School of Dentistry; he went on to complete a residency in general practice at the VA Wadsworth Medical Center in West Los Angeles. After finishing his residency, he completed a two-year course in orthodontics from Progressive Orthodontics Seminars.
Through his extensive continuing education, Dr. Villar is able to provide premium quality dentistry to residents in and around Santa Clarita and San Fernando Valley. As an experienced cosmetic dentist, his dentistry skills and advanced training have helped him obtain mentor status at "The Kois Center: Advancing Dentistry through Excellence." Located in Seattle, Washington, the Kois Center is a renowned continuing education facility that trains dentists from all over the world in the latest cosmetic and restorative dentistry techniques. Dr. Villar was also selected by his peers as one of America's Best Dentists in the 2004/2005 publication of “The Best Dentists in America.”
Dr. Villar is a member of several professional dental organizations, including the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the San Gabriel Valley Periodontal Study Group, Opus Dental Study Group, the Beverly Hills Prosthodontic Study Group and the San Fernando Valley Dental Society. Outside the field of clinical dentistry, Dr. Villar has studied with the Odell Consulting Group, Linda Miles Consulting, Mercer Corporation, Hygiene Mastery, and Jennifer De Saint Georges Consulting Groups.
Since the early 1990s, Dr. Villar has traveled nationwide to take advanced courses and training from fellow leaders in the fields of cosmetic and restorative dentistry. From the mid-1990s, his practice has emphasized biologically friendly dentistry, utilizing only mercury-free materials. To further increase his knowledge and level of skill, Dr. Villar attends international conferences and seminars where the “best of the best” gather together to discuss the latest procedures and technology used in the field of dentistry.
